Gravity pulls Twitter to E71

Gravity - S60 Twitter clientEarlier this week software company mobileways.de released Gravity – first native Twitter client for Symbian S60 (3rd and 5th Edition). First announcements about this project were given public a few months ago, and then were followed by non-public beta tests. Now every Twitter-maniac can update his status, follow his or her friends, post pics to TwitPic, etc using Gravity. OK this may be no big revolution, but the application UI is really cool. I’d say that this is one more piece of software showing underestimated power of Symbian. Interface is nicely animated and its usability allows to discover all the features in a quick and natural way. Any disadvantages? It’s not for free, so if you are considering switching from web based access at m.twitter.com to Gravity, be prepared for paying 7.95 euro. Is it worth paying? Personally I use Twitter only for following Lance Armstrong recovery after his collarbone injury last month, but if you are one of twittering fans check 10 days trial version for free, available here.

It does not work under T-Mobile USA’s t-zones, I could only get it to work on wifi. Back to twibble for me.

Of course, I also thought it was slower than twibble, and the font was too small for casual glancing. I couldn’t increase the size.

Try using a proxyless connection. In my E71 I have several connections. For example, I have 2 UMTS Vodafone connections: one with a proxy and one without.
I really love Gravity, I hardly twit with my PC now.

Im trying to use this app but when I try to go online i only receive a “Protected User” message.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Gravity is nowhere near as good as http://www.twittermobile.co.uk!

TwitterMobile has really got me hooked! It has the best UI experience I have ever seen on the e71. Usually all these apps are dull and boring but TwitterMobile rules!!!

And I have been tolded that they planned to allow themes in the next major release!!!

I installed Gravity last night and my phone pretty much instantly stopped connecting to the web. I removed gravity and the phone still won’t connect.
Pretty sure it ruined the phone.
If anyone has had this happen or knows how I might fix it, I would be eternally greatful.

There’s also the free @SociallyApp (http://bit.ly/6mFra0) on E71 and other Nokia phones. It supports Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and integrates with the phone book by showing the profile photos and latest status of the callers during incoming calls. Here’s a review – http://blogs.nokia.com/dailyapp/2010/02/socially-can-tell-you-whats-up-before-answering-the-phone/
