Unfortunately, doesn’t work for me. 😦 Fring crashes and restarts when trying to connect to the network while starting. I need to report this to Fring developers…

    Dawid,

That’s strange cause I have just installed fring on my phone and so far it didn’t crashed, test call and sip call went fine. I had installed E61i version before which I have overwritten now. How was with your device?

    best regards,

won’t install at all for me. i download from the link sent via sms and just when it was about to finish installing, i get a “unable to install” message with a big red exclamation mark.

i then download it to my pc and then send it via bluetooth to my phone and the same happens just when the installing was about to complete.

    any idea why?

    m,

Have you set Application Manager to accept all application? I think there still might an issue with Fring’s certificate.
Please take a look at comments for this post: https://nokiae71.wordpress.com/2008/07/24/qik-on-e71-not-really/ and see if it helps you?

    best regards,

The solution is still Fring for Nokia E61i πŸ™‚
Try as well to restart your mobile.

It works for me, especially the SkypeOut option with phone numbers from my E71 contact list. Great for international calls, using my 3G data plan.

I don’t chat, so no comment there.

Anyone tried making VoIP calls through E71’s ‘Mobile VPN’ connection using Fring and Skype over WiFi?

If yes, how was it, call drops, call quality delay etc?

My installation of FRING was smooth but the application itself can be improved. Comparing it to Palringo after a week of evaluating, I’ve decided that Palringo is better (nevermind that Fring connects to more IM clients including Skype).

FRING is annoying to use and I’m not the only one who thinks so. Anyone who uses MSN a lot would too! I’ve posted my review of Fring here:
