A lot of E71’ users complain about low volume and not very good quality of sound given by original stereo headset (HS-47). Unfortunately I must say that’s true and I was looking for some solution. I don’t know why HS-44 (with AD-44 adaptor) was not fully compatible. The mic was just dead. Have any of you, dear readers, checked it? Anyway, in the meantime Shaun from pda247.com mailed me about a simple solution. All you need is cheap mini-jack (3.5 mm) connector and you can use your own, favorite headphones with E71. As I was mailed it allows getting loud and good quality sound. It’s not an ideal solution (no microphone), but for music addicted it’s should be fine!
